Signature Newborn Sessions
Newborn photography is one of the most special types of photography out there. For the past 9 months, you’ve been growing your own little miracle. Those cute little sleepy smiles, the tiny little milk spots that form on their nose, tiny hands grab onto fingers. This sleepy, snuffly, cuddly stage is so fleeting – your baby will never be this little and new again.
For many parents, being able to capture this gone-too-soon stage is a dream come true and a unique event never to be replicated. My job is to tell the story of your new family and provide you with images you’ll treasure for a lifetime.
The best age to capture these images is while your baby is between 5 and 14 days old. This is because they’ll still be showing womblike behaviour therefore making it easier to curl them into the gorgeous newborn poses. However I can capture many of these poses up until baby is around 4 weeks old, so don’t worry if baby is already past 14 days already.
I aim to get a range of different images from the posed blanket shots to using various props and baskets. I also have a range of different fabrics and luxury materials which you can choose from if you wish. If you’d like to be in any of the images, please just let me know. Even though many new parents aren’t always feeling their best, I always encourage them to get at least one image with baby. After all, your new baby will never be so tiny in your arms again. And if you have any other children who you’d like included, I’m more than happy to do so.
The Booking Process
I advise parents to book in as soon as they know they’d like to have their baby photographed. I can take bookings any time from your 20week scan by booking with me while you’re still pregnant, I can usually fit you in before baby is 14 days old.
On booking, I pencil you in the diary for your due date and then you just need to let me know when baby arrives. Once they are here we can organise a date to suit for the session.
I’ve put together a Newborn FAQs page which has the most common questions I get asked about my sessions. Please have a read and feel free to ask if I’ve missed any of your questions out.
